Your adventure begins with a picturesque drive along National Route 3, making your way to the Lakes Region. During your journey, you'll traverse expansive peat valleys and climb the impressive Andes Mountains via the breathtaking Garibaldi Pass. After approximately an hour on the road, you'll reach a charming family-owned mountain lodge situated by Laguna Escondida, roughly 55 km from Ushuaia.

This delightful location signifies the start of your horseback riding journey. Here, your guide will thoughtfully choose the ideal criollo horse for you, ensuring it aligns with your skill level for a safe and enjoyable experience. It's a meaningful moment of connection between rider and horse as you prepare to saddle up and explore the sub-Antarctic Fuegian forest. For about an hour, you'll ride beneath a canopy of native Nothofagus trees, an excellent chance to fully engage with the region’s distinctive natural beauty. The path then leads you along a segment of the old Route 3, guiding you to the shores of the pristine Escondido Lake. Here, you'll take a break to hydrate the horses and soak in the stunning panoramic views—lakes, valleys, forests, and mountains merging into a landscape that embodies the spirit of this remote part of the island.

Upon your return to the lodge, you'll enjoy a traditional local snack, surrounded by your new four-legged friends. This memorable adventure wraps up with the scenic drive back to Ushuaia, leaving your heart and senses filled with vivid images and treasured memories, an authentic horseback riding experience in one of the world's southernmost wildernesses.

Please note: The transfer time to/from the hourse farm is 60x minutes each direction. This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck/back problems, guests with heart/respiratory conditions, or guests with limited mobility. Due to this type of terrain, guests must remain with the group, no independent explorations are allowed without an authorized licensed guide. This experience takes place in a Natural Reservoir environment; guests are requested to respect local flora & fauna according to the local laws and regulations. Dress warmly in layers, with sturdy, closed-toe, waterproof shoes/boots, and bring sun protection and a weatherproof jacket. A safety helmet and a rain poncho will be provided.
