This Cartagena shore excursion is a wonderful way to explore the charm, culture and history of this picturesque city on the northern coast of Columbia.

Manga "Jewel of the Indies", La Popa Monastery & Chapel, Plaza de Santa Teresa, Plaza de Bolivar

Enjoy a panoramic driving tour of Manga, experience the picturesque sites of the Monastery and Chapel on the Hill of La Popa, explore the Old City of Cartagena including Plaza de Santa Teresa, Plaza de Bolivar, Plaza de Aduana and Plaza de los Coches and enjoy some souvenir shopping at the Dungeons with 23 handcraft shops.Start your tour by meeting your tour guide and van at the cruise dock. From here, you will enjoy a panoramic driving tour in the Manga neighborhood. This vibrant neighborhood displays perfectly preserved colonial architecture and picturesque streets, as well as impressive, historic mansions.

Your tour continues to the hill of La Popa, a 150 m-high hill which is also the highest point in Cartagena. On the top of the, you will have a unique opportunity to get out and admire the grounds of the incredible 17th century convent, cloister and chapel of Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria de la Popa. You will have spectacular views and photo opportunities here.

San Felipe de Barajas Fort, San Pedro Claver Church, Dugeons of Cartagena

Next, you will be heading towards one of the most important historic forts, San Felipe de Barajas Fort for a short photo stop outside, before continuing to the walled Old Town for a fascinating walking/rolling tour of the best highlights of the city. Among other places, you will visit the charming, colonial Plaza de Santa Teresa, the picturesque Plaza de Bolivar and Plaza de los Coches where a slave market was held for centuries. As you make your way through the city, your tour guide will share intriguing history with you.

You will also get to visit the beautiful San Pedro Claver Church and Garden where you will admire the beautiful interior and exterior colonial features that have been well-preserved over time. Your last stop of the day will be the Dungeons of Cartagena. This shopping strip located in an old historic building has 23 small handcraft shops that offers a variety of products from pottery, clothing, stones and much more. You will have time to browse the market and do some souvenir shopping if you desire.

Please note: This tour is specially designed for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair or a scooter. The driver will place non-collapsible wheelchairs into the rear of the vehicle, and bring them out at each sightseeing stop, however guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. On Sundays the mayan center is closed and will be replace with Discover Mexico.
