Excursion Lake cruise, petrohue falls & puerto varas tour at Puerto Montt

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Heading out of the city and meeting up with the main highway, you will first drive along the shores of Lake Llanquihue and pass through the village of Ensenada. As you circle the lake, the scenery becomes more beautiful with each mile, passing lush green countryside, oxen-plowed fields, and weather-beaten clapboard barns and churches. The Lake District is one of the most spectacular areas in Chile. Hundreds of picturesque lakes and numerous active volcanoes dominate the surrounding landscape.

In Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, you will board a vessel for a 45-minute cruise on Lake Todos Los Santos, also known as Emerald Lake for its vivid blue-green color. Theodore Roosevelt called it the most beautiful lake in the world. Continuing to Petrohue Rapids, you'll see a gleaming succession of blue rapids against a backdrop of mountains, including nearby Osorno Volcano. Here, you will stop to walk the pathways and trails, taking in the gorgeous views of the rapids, waterfalls, mountains, and natural wilderness.

Re-boarding the coach, you will drive to Puerto Varas. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant and then you will have time to discover Puerto Varas and its handicraft market before returning to Puerto Mott.
