Depart for Lalibela Private Game Reserve, situated 90 km from Port Elizabeth, one of South Africa's major cities and affectionately known as 'The Friendly City'. The Eastern Cape is rich in ethnic culture and diversity and offers the traveller a unique wildlife experience.
Lalibela Private Game Reserve and 4x4 Game Drive
Upon arrival at the Day Visitor's Centre, transfer over into 4x4 vehicles and embark on a 3-hour game drive in open vehicles, traversing the reserve, where the wildlife roams in profusion and diversity.
The game drive brings you face to face with a multitude of game species, ranging from the mighty "Big 5", to the tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax. Lalibela is also home to hippo, giraffe, zebra, warthog and numerous species of antelope such as eland, kudu, bushbuck and wildebeest. Hopefully, you will encounter a variety of wildlife on your game drive.

Return to the Day Visitors' Centre for a buffet lunch.
After this exciting day, depart the reserve and return to the pier in Port Elizabeth.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate/extensive amount of off-road driving and a minimal amount of walking, at times over uneven, bumpy, gravel, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the 4X4 vehicles. This tour is recommended for active guests in good physical condition. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, a light, weatherproof jacket, and a camera from the ship. Guests must be at least 6 years old to participate on this tour. Guests are not permitted to speak loudly as this disturbs the animals, nor stand up on the game drive vehicles. Smoking is not permitted during the game drives. No food may be taken into the reserve on the open vehicles. Guests must carry their passports. The open-air, 4WD safari vehicles utilised on this tour are not covered, and guests are therefore exposed to the elements. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife and bird sightings are not guaranteed. Due to the prevailing weather conditions and movement of dangerous wildlife on the Game Reserve, the programme contents and sequence are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice. Lilabela Private Reserve is located in a malaria free area. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
