Your Athenian adventure begins with scenic views of the city's main sights by coach, after which you will head out to the foothills of Mount Lycabettus. The Lycabettus Funicular Railway will then be responsible for aiding your ascent up the mountain a spine-tingling experience in itself. After a 680-foot underground journey up to the highest peak in central Athens, you will be rewarded with spectacular, 360° views of the city and the surrounding area. From up here, you can see the Acropolis, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Panathenaic Stadium and Ancient Agora and you will also be reminded that Athens is surrounded by sea with spectacular views across the Aegean.


Tea/Coffee Break with 360° Views of the City

Mount Lycabettus is the highest point in the center of Athens as it sits 908 feet above sea level. On the higher peak is the 19th-century Chapel of Saint George, a tiny Cycladic-style chapel that was first used by a Monk in 1834 and sits on the grounds of an ancient temple dedicated to the God Zeus as well as a café where you will enjoy relaxing tea/coffee overlooking all of these Athens' most iconic sights.


Afterward, re-board your coach for a transfer back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking over incline surfaces and a flight of stairs to access the funicular and another flight of stairs to reach the coffee area. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. The funicular line runs through a tunnel, therefore it is not recommended for passengers who suffer from claustrophobia. Please note that to reach the ultimate top where the little church of St George is located there are further 70 steps to negotiate. The tour sequence and timeline may vary. The tour requires a minimum amount of participants to operate.
