Excursion Narlijia heritage and culture tour at Broome

Take a step back in time on this discovery through Broome. Meet Bart Pigram, a Yawuru man from the West Kimberley region of northwest Australia and be guided through Broome as he describes the landscape and Yawuru people’s place within it. He will introduce you to the language and cultural heritage of the area. Bart will retell tales of the town’s pearling history, stories of Sun Pictures, Johnny Chi Lane and the opium dens, brothels and gambling houses of the lively, chaotic and lawless Broome of the early 1900’s. This experience will give you an authentic look into the lives of the locals and the heritage of the area.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking. Guests are advised to wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, a hat and sunscreen and bring your filled Silversea drinking bottle to remain hydrated during the outing.
