Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour and experience the sights and sounds of a native New Zealand cloud forest. Your tour takes you through Orokonui's grassland, regenerating forest and the start of the ancient forest habitat. This cross-section of habitats is commonly home to a range of endemic fauna, including tuatara, Otago skinks, korimako, tūī, and kākā. The birdlife is abundant here, and easy to see and photograph thanks to the bird-feeders located along the paths.
