After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Jodhpur of approximately 1.25 hours in length. Transfer to the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace, your luxurious home in the city, where a late lunch awaits you.

Commence your exploration of Jodhpur with a visit to Mehrangarh Fort. Built in 1459 atop a steep hill by the founder of Jodhpur, Rao Jodha, the majestic Mehrangarh Fort stands 400-feet high, overlooking the city - a grand, invincible structure of colossal proportions. Yet despite its size the fort exhibits a haunting beauty. The imposing walls are solid but enclose intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. They enclose several exquisitely decorated palaces including the Moti Mahal, the Pearl Palace; Phool Mahal, the Flower Palace and Sheesh Mahal, the Mirror Palace. The fort also houses a large museum with a fine collection of exhibits that include musical instruments, rare and interesting artefacts, textiles and paintings.

During your descent from the fort, you will see on your left the Jaswant Thada mausoleum. This is an architectural landmark in Jodhpur - a white marble memorial built by Sardar Singh in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Built out of intricately carved sheets of thin and polished marble, the reflection of the sun's rays falling on it make it spectacular. End your tour with sundowners.

Embark on an off-road adventure through the arid land of Rajasthan. Villages and rural communities comprise of 75% of Rajasthan's population. Their lives are still determined by age-old customs and traditions of yore, more than other urban citizens. Like many countries throughout the world, India has a long history of nature worship, and that practice continues today, especially through the veneration of forest groves. The Bishnoi tribes manage sacred groves called orans in the arid and desert regions of Rajasthan, in northwest India. Lunch will be served at a local resort.

After lunch, the afternoon has been set aside to explore the older part of Jodhpur city by auto rickshaw and on foot. Discover its hidden treasures and gain insight into local life.
