Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to the picturesque conservation village of Luss, nestled on the western shore of beautiful Loch Lomond. Legend has it that the village takes its name from an adaptation of the French for the heraldic flower, the iris, or Fleur de Lys. A rich deposit of bluish-grey slate stones runs through the village, and neat rows of cottages come alive in spring and summer with elaborate flower displays. Much of the village was built to house workers from the nearby slate quarries in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, you can still find mounds of beautifully-stacked slate stones around the village.

Guided Walking Tour, Luss Church

Upon arrival, join your local guide for a walking tour of the village. Just to the south of the centre of the village, and still overlooking the Loch, is Luss Church. Built by the Colquhouns in 1875, this lovely little church is worth exploring.

End-of-the-Pier View, Free Time, Shopping

No visit to Luss is complete without taking in the view from the end of the pier, with Ben Lomond standing proudly over Loch Lomond. Following your walking tour, some free time is made available to sit and relax, do a bit of shopping, and/or stop by one of the many lovely bars or restaurants at your own expense. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair.
