Plateau is the historic centre of the capital city of Praia on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde.

This enriching discovery takes you through the heart of Cape Verde's capital, allowing you to immerse yourself in its rich history, vibrant culture, and bustling markets. You will also visit a local food market and take a leisurely stroll along pedestrian street lined with colorful colonial-era buildings.

At the end of your exploration, immerse yourself in the rhythm and movement of Cabo Verdean dance during a lively workshop held at the Palace of Culture. Talented instructors will introduce you to traditional dance steps and provide insights into the cultural significance of these expressive forms.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. We recommend guests wear light comfortable clothing and comfortable walking shoes and bring sun protection, a hat, and sunglasses. Please note that temperatures at this time of the year can get very high. We suggest bringing your filled Silversea drinking bottle to remain hydrated during the outing as well as local currency (Caboverdian Escudos) for any purchases; EURO and USD are accepted in most places. Cape Verde is a low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Coaches, guides, restaurants, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions.
