Palamós, Pals Village, Little Train-Ride, Old Quarter, Empordà Rice Fields

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to Pals. This medieval Catalonian village was built on the Costa Brava between the 11th and 13th centuries, and declared a Site of Historical Interest in 1973. This hilltop village was built around a fortress and has kept its medieval appearance thanks to a local doctor, who, after the village had been neglected, took the lead in its restoration. Upon arrival, board your awaiting little train for a picturesque ride into the Old Quarter of Pals. From here, your train-ride continues into the Empordà rice fields. En route, learn about rice production in this area.

Moli de Pals Mill, Rice-Bleaching Process, Beer Tasting, Little Train-Ride

A stop is made at the Moli de Pals Mill, which dates from 1452. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour. Along the way, observe the production process of bleaching rice, and participate in a tasting of beer made with rice from the Moli d'Arrossa. Following your visit, re-board your train and commence the panoramic ride back to Pals. Upon arrival, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
