Excursion Rural customs of chiloé island tour at Castro

We will begin our journey with a visit to the Yumbel market in Castro, where we will explore the island's distinctive land and sea products. Additionally, we will enjoy a tasting of traditional Chilote delicacies.
Following this, we will head to the quaint town of Wueltun, famous for being featured in the film "And Suddenly at Dawn." During our exploration of this charming town, we will gain insights into Chilote culture and the various local trades unique to the island. We will have the opportunity to watch three artisans showcase their craftsmanship, utilizing materials such as basketry, wood, and wool.
Subsequently, we will proceed to the port of Yutuy, where we will board a traditional Chilote boat for a scenic sail through the Castro Fjord, passing by iconic stilt houses on our way back to the port of Castro.

Please note: A moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. The boat cruise is 45 minutes and a few steps to negotiate to embark/disembark the boat making this tour not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The boat is a traditional local boat and offers only partial protection. Weather is unpredictable in Chiloé, it is recommended to wear warm layered clothing, and a waterproof windbreaker jacket along with sturdy walking shoes. The tour sequence may vary.
