Excursion Scenic island tour and samares manor tour at Saint Helier
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Enjoy a coastal tour of this lovely island, pausing at the main sights, prior to arriving at Samares Manor. Our journey will circuit the island in a clockwise direction, heading out West from St Helier. Pass through the lovely fishing village of St. Aubin and take a little time to explore the Noirmont headland home to a German bunker where your guide will tell you more about the German Occupation of Jersey. From here also enjoy wonderful views to the southeast coast and the beautiful Bay of Portelet.
Continue to Corbiere Lighthouse and pause for a photo here, La Corbière is situated in the extreme south-western point of Jersey in St. Brelade. The rocks and extreme tidal variation around this stretch of Jersey's coast have been treacherous for navigation and La Corbière has been the scene of many shipwrecks, including that of the mail packet "Express" on 20 September 1859. At St. Brelades and Corbiere pass other fortifications and enjoy the wonderful coastal scenery along the first half of beautiful St. Ouens Bay. Arrive at Samares Manor for a guided house tour before exploring the unique gardens at your leisure. Finally, return to St. Helier and your awaiting ship.
