Scenic Drive to Rabat
Depart the pier in Casablanca and relax during a scenic drive of approximately 1.5 hours to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of its imperial cities, with origins dating back to the 7th century. Recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rabat offers a refined blend of history, architecture, and modern life.
Royal Palace Esplanade
Upon arrival, stop at the Esplanade of the Royal Palace, the official residence of King Mohammed VI. While the palace itself is not open to the public, the surrounding area offers an impressive introduction to Morocco’s royal traditions and grand architecture. Continue to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, one of Rabat’s most iconic landmarks. This architectural masterpiece serves as the final resting place of King Mohammed V and his two sons and is admired for its intricate craftsmanship, marble details, and ceremonial guards.
Kasbah of the Oudayas & Andalusian Gardens
Re-board the coach and proceed to the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a historic fortified district overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy time to explore its narrow streets, reminiscent of a traditional Moroccan medina, before strolling downhill to the Andalusian Gardens. From here, take in beautiful views of the river and the city of Salé across the water.
Traditional Moroccan Lunch
Conclude your visit to Rabat with a traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant. Savor classic dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and fragrant spices, while experiencing the warmth and hospitality of Moroccan cuisine.
Note
Please Note: This full-day excursion involves moderate physical activity and includes approximately 3 to 3.5 km of walking over a combination of flat surfaces, cobblestones, and hilly terrain, particularly in the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Guests will need to negotiate approximately 25 steps, including staircases at the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and within the Kasbah area. The tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. There are no ramps or lifts available at the Mausoleum or in the Kasbah. Some steps are also required when boarding and disembarking the coach. Please note that the Royal Palace Esplanade and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V may be closed without prior notice if the King is in residence or for official ceremonies. In such cases, alternative sightseeing arrangements will be made when possible. Appropriate attire is required for the visit to religious sites: knees and shoulders must be covered at the Mausoleum and surrounding areas. A traditional Moroccan lunch is included. The restaurant can accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free diets. Restroom facilities are available during scheduled stops, including at a gas station en route and at the restaurant. Photography and videography are permitted at most sites; however, photography of military and police facilities is prohibited. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended due to uneven surfaces. The tour may be affected by religious holidays based on the lunar calendar.
