Touverre Workshop, Glass Blowing

Depart the pier by coach for a short drive to the Touverre Workshop. Glass blowing is one of the oldest forms of art, and also one of the most difficult to master. The technique was used in Egypt and Syria thousands of years ago.  Nowadays in Saguenay, Guiseppe Benedetto, glass-maker and sculptor, performs this highly sophisticated technique for visitors to his workshop. The glass-maker's goal is to develop top-of-the-line decorative objects such as whales, blueberries, fruits, lamps, perfumers, and more. His creations integrate his art with architecture. Limited-series sculptures incorporate granite, glass, aluminum, bronze, or steel-contrasts in strength and fragility.

Fine Stone Cutting

Cross the street to visit the Fine Stone Cutting Economuseum and discover the fascinating transformation steps of lapidary work. This workshop will transport you in a world of highly original handmade jewelry. Magnificent amethyst geodes, local and worldwide minerals and fine stones awaits to spark your eyes and wonder your minds.

Alpaga Bersi Farm

Next visit will be at the Alpaga Farm where you will learn about this friendly natured animal from the collection of his fiber to the finish product. Also known as the Gold of the Andes, this luxurious natural fiber has much to offer. It is light, warm, resistant, not prickly, Hypoallergenic and extremely soft. Combined with the expertise of our craftsman, you will find unique treasures that results such as sweaters, scarf, hats, mittens and more.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of easy walking and standing, with a several steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the sites visited. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility but not those guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a lightweight jacket and bottled water from the ship. The tour might operate on a Yellow School Bus depending on availability of the coaches.
