Excursion The granite city walking tour tour at Aberdeen

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Depart the port on foot with your guide on a walking tour of Aberdeen beginning at the heart of the city and the Mercat Cross. Explore the granite buildings and sculptures of Aberdeen's city center, which also takes in the Art Gallery, Provost Skene's House as well as the second largest building in the world; Marischal College.

Walk down Bon Accord Square and step back in time to the Georgian era with homes built by Archibald Simpson for some of the city's wealthier residents in the 1820s. Aberdeen city is steeped in history and stories, and architectural wonders overflow. From ancient places of worship to ultra-modern, award-winning towers, and a grand twin-domed theatre to university buildings, this is a tour not easily forgotten and a photographer's dream.

Returning to the Mercat Cross enjoy some free time in the city center, where you may wish to visit one of the many galleries or museums. Head back to the meeting point for your guide to escort back to your awaiting ship.
