Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park, Walking Tour, Keahou Bay, Zodiac-Ride

Next, re-board your coach and head to the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park. Long ago, there was kapu, the ancient Hawaiian system of laws. Should a person break a kapu and face almost certain death, they could make their way to a place of refuge and be absolved. The Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park is one of those places. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of this historic, approximately 420-acre (about 170-hectare) park. Along the way, see temple platforms, fishponds, and vestiges of ancient life in Hawaii. Afterward, re-board your coach and drive to Keahou Bay for snorkel check-in. Receive your Zodiac-boat and safety instructions, then embark your high-speed, Zodiac-boat and take to the seas.

Kona Coast, Sea Caves, Lava Tubes, Kealakekua Bay, Captain Cook Statue, Snorkeling, Lunch

Your approximately two-mile (about 3.2-kilometre-long) route explores sea caves and lava tubes along the rugged Kona Coast whilst on the lookout for marine life all around you. Upon arrival at the sheltered and pristine waters of Kealakekua Bay, come face-to-face with the monument to Captain Cook, along with approximately two hours of snorkeling that ranks among the best in Hawaii, and is ideal for beginners and experienced snorkelers alike. Before swimming and snorkeling, enjoy a deli-style lunch. At the conclusion of your tour, ride back to the snorkel check-in point on Keahou Bay. Upon arrival, disembark your Zodiac-boat, re-board your coach, and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
