Enjoy your call in the port of Pauillac to discover the famous wineries that surround the town.
Pauillac is the gateway to the “Haut Medoc” wine regions. Bordered by Saint Julien AOC to the South and Saint Estephe AOC to the north, the Pauillac AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controlee- a French government-controlled designation of origin which signifies where grapes are grown), is home to three of the five “First Growth” wineries, from the world renown 1855 Wine Classification that gave the world Cru and Grand Cru wines.
Head to the Chateau Pédesclaux, a prestigious organic winery, with its innovative architecture and technological achievement. The winery, Fifth Classified Growth 1855, is proud of its environmental process to protect the richness its terroir produces. After your visit, you will have a vertical tasting of 5 wines before heading back to the ship.
