Valletta, National Museum of Archaeology & St. John's Co-Cathedral

Start your day by meeting your tour guide and accessible van at the Valetta cruise port. From here, you will head out on a short scenic drive towards the ancient city gate of Valletta. Once inside Valletta, you will arrive at your first stop of the day, the National Museum of Archaeology. The National Museum of Archaeology is housed in the impressive Auberge de Provence. The Museum exhibits a spectacular range of artifacts dating back to Malta's Neolithic period (5000 BC) up to the Phoenician Period (400 BC). Escorted by your tour guide, you will explore the Museum site and learn about the history of the Maltese Islands.

Next, your tour continues with a visit to the stunning St. John's Co-Cathedral. This beautiful Roman Catholic co-cathedral is an example of extravagant Baroque style architecture and art. It was built between 1572 and 1577 by the Order of St. John, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist.

Mdina

After exploring Valetta, you will head out to the "silent village" of Mdina which used to be the former capital of Malta. This ancient city, contained by the still standing ancient walls, is a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of other cities. Cars are not permitted inside the city walls and the population is less than 300 people! Take a leisurely stroll here and soak in the beauty of this traditional, historic town.

Afterwards, return to the ship.
