Excursion Yutoku inari shrine and serene japanese garden tour at Sasebo
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Immerse yourself in Japan's rich culture and natural beauty.
Yutoku Inari Shrine
Depart from the pier for a 60-minute drive to Yutoku Inari Shrine, counted among Japan’s Three Major Inari Shrines. Founded in 1687, its brilliant vermilion halls rise dramatically along the hillside, revealing elegant details and sweeping vistas over the valley. Expect more than 100 steps as you explore the complex; some areas include slopes, and a lift may be available, though it does not serve all sections of the shrine.
Yoko Museum and Keishu-en Garden
Afterward, continue with a 30-minute transfer to the Yoko Museum and Keishu-en Garden. The museum presents fine porcelain and cultural pieces, offering context to the region’s artistic legacy. Step outside into Keishu-en, a refined Ikezumi-style strolling garden designed for quiet contemplation. Waterfalls cascade over sculpted stonework, paths meander past tea plantings, and viewpoints frame serene scenes—an elegant counterpoint to the shrine’s vibrant energy.
The tour ends with approximately 40-minute drive back to the ship.
