Excursion Duiker island seal dive tour at Cape Town

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Experience a half-day (four hours) wildlife snorkeling adventure that brings you nose-to-nose with playful and inquisitive wild animals in their natural habitat, and affords you the privilege of viewing them on their own terms.

Embark from the pier and board your coach for the scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay. Continue along the coastal road, past the upmarket suburb of Llandudno and on towards the charming fishing village of Hout Bay.

At Hout Bay meet with your Seal Snorkeling Team for a safety briefing. Get kitted up and travel by boat for 35-minutes to Duiker Island. You are now in the protected Karbonkelberg marine area, part of Table Mountain National Park, that is home to 5,000 to 10,000 Cape Fur Seals. View them in their natural environment beneath the Sentinel Mountain.

Dive into the crisp, cool Atlantic Ocean and view hundreds if not thousands of Cape Fur Seals frolicking around Duiker Island. Respectfully swim with these endemic animals that are found nowhere else in the world. Remember that these seals are wild; they behave naturally and interact with visitors on their own terms.

After your adventure with the seals, change your clothes and enjoy some hot beverages. Back at shore, return to your coach for the drive back to Cape Town.
